Dr. Tianyu Qin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of North Georgia. She holds a Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition from Carnegie Mellon University (2018). Prior to UNG, she taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Carnegie Mellon University, and Indiana University Bloomington. Her research focuses on interlanguage pragmatics, emphasizing the assessment and pedagogical strategies for second language learners, particularly in understanding implied meanings. She employs a sociocultural psychological framework to bridge research and teaching practices.
