Tianxiang Shi is an Associate Professor and Edna Tuttleman Research Fellow in Risk, Actuarial Science, and Legal Studies at Temple University's Fox School of Business. As a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), his research examines risk modeling in pensions, reverse mortgages, and insurance data science.
Research specialties include longevity risk management through pension buyouts, pricing models for reverse mortgages with surrender options, and telematics-based auto insurance. His publications reflect strong mathematical foundations in stochastic modeling and risk theory applications.
Shi serves as UEC accreditation actuary for Temple's Actuarial Science Program and teaches courses like Short-Term Actuarial Modeling and Advanced Short-Term Actuarial Modeling. Recognized with the James C. Hickman Scholarship and Faculty of the Year award for the Actuarial Science MS program.
