Tianshu He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Asian & Middle Eastern Studies at Duke University, affiliated with Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. He holds an M.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Boston (2005). His research focuses on second language acquisition methodologies, multimedia integration in teaching, Chinese classical literature, and heritage language learning.
He has taught courses such as First-Year Chinese I/II, Modern Chinese Society through New Media, and Voices in Marketing: Advertising in Chinese. His academic career at Duke spans from 2009, starting as an Instructor (2009-2010), progressing to Lecturer (2010-2018), and currently as Senior Lecturer since 2018.
His publications explore classical Chinese pedagogy, cultural studies, and literary criticism. Notable works include analyses of Tang Dynasty poetry, studies on Lin Yutang's cultural diplomacy, and creative poetry collections. His scholarship bridges historical literary texts with contemporary teaching practices.
