Dr. Thorsten Seidel is a biological sciences specialist at Bielefeld University's Faculty of Biology, primarily affiliated with the Department of Biochemistry and Plant Physiology and the Center for Biotechnology (CeBiTec). His academic journey began with a Biology Diploma in 2004 followed by a Doctorate in Biology in 2007, both from Bielefeld University.
His research expertise centers on cellular imaging techniques, particularly dynamic cell imaging in plant systems. Seidel served as Junior Professor for 'Dynamic Cell Imaging' from 2008 to 2016 and completed a research fellowship at the Carnegie Institution for Science's Department of Plant Biology in 2013/2014. Since 2016, he has served on the Academic Council of the Faculty of Biology.
