معرفی
Dr. Thorsten Feichtner is a habilitation candidate and researcher in the Nano-Optics and Bio-Photonics group at the University of Würzburg's Experimental Physics V department. His work focuses on designing plasmonic nanostructures for applications in sensing, energy conversion, and nanoscale optics. Key projects include the MSCA-funded PoSHGOAT (studying second harmonic generation in plasmonic nanostructures) and the VW Foundation-funded PeCo (exploring plasmo-electric conversion). Feichtner employs advanced methods like finite-difference-time-domain simulations and focused ion beam milling to optimize nano-optical devices.
His research interests span plasmonics, nano-optics, and optical antenna design, with a particular emphasis on chiral and nonlinear responses. Recent achievements include developing light-driven microdrones and a Python-based FIB-o-mat toolbox for helium ion beam nanofabrication. Feichtner collaborates internationally, including work at the Politecnico di Milano, and contributes to advancing nanofabrication techniques using monocrystalline gold flakes.
He holds affiliations with the Chair of Experimental Physics (Biophysics) and is part of the AG Hecht research team. His lab's infrastructure includes access to state-of-the-art facilities for nanoscale characterization (e.g., SPM, confocal microscopy) and computational modeling. Feichtner's interdisciplinary approach bridges physics, materials science, and engineering, targeting breakthroughs in nano-optical systems and energy technologies.
