Prof. Dr. Thorsten Dick is a Professor of Communication Science in the Technical Editing and Multimedia Documentation program at the Department of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Computer Science (MNI), Technical University of Mittelhessen (THM), Gießen, since 2019. He previously served as a research assistant and study program coordinator at THM from 2014 to 2019.

His research focuses on specialized communication science, emphasizing linguistic and non-linguistic communication optimization, preparation and design of text, image, and audio information. His work explores the comprehensibility of research notes in professional communication and the role of subject-related communication in academic and digital contexts.
Recent publications analyze forms of subject-related communication and its application in closed social media groups. His dissertation (2019) investigates professional self-communication and optimization strategies for research notes.
