Thomas Zinsmaier is a Lecturer at the Department of General Rhetoric and Philology, University of Tübingen, with a career spanning Latin, philosophy, and history. His work focuses on ancient rhetoric theory, humanist rhetoric, topical theory, and figure theory. He previously served as an editor for the DFG project "Historical Dictionary of Rhetoric" from 1994 to 2011, contributing to antiquity, medieval, and Renaissance periods.

His academic output includes monographs, journal articles, and book reviews in fields such as Ancient Rhetoric Theory, Humanist Rhetoric, and Classical Latin Studies.
