معرفی
Thomas Sykes is an Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick, leading the Fluid Dynamics Research Centre. He holds concurrent positions in Oxford's Fluid Dynamics Laboratory and Wadham College. His research focuses on fluid dynamics, particularly multiphase flows, droplet dynamics (coalescence, splashing), and complex fluids. He employs interdisciplinary methods including numerical simulations, high-speed imaging, and mathematical modeling.
Education: BSc Mathematics (Leeds, 2016); PhD/MSc Fluid Dynamics (EPSRC CDT, Leeds, 2020).
Research Interests: Microfluidics, inkjet printing, aerosol generation, infectious disease transmission, and environmentally friendly crop sprays. Recent work includes droplet impact on shallow pools, surfactant effects on splashing, and electrohydrodynamic printing of liquid crystals.
Labs/Teams: Fluid Dynamics Research Centre (Warwick), Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (Oxford).
