Thomas Shokite is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science at the University of New Haven, where he has taught since 1992. He holds 18 credits toward a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Nova Southeastern University and an M.S. in Computer Information Science from the University of New Haven. In parallel to his academic role, he has been a Senior IT Engineer at The Hartford Insurance Company since 2004, currently serving as Product Manager for enterprise Virtual Services. He also teaches Virtual Services and Services Oriented Architecture to employees and vendor partners at The Hartford.
His technical expertise includes virtualization technologies, systems architecture, and software engineering, reflected in his two U.S. patents: 'DYNAMIC INTERFACE VIRTUALIZATION IN A NETWORKED COMPUTING ENVIRONMENT' (2017) and 'METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OPTIMIZING REFILL AMOUNT FOR AUTOMATIC REFILL OF A SHARED VIRTUAL POSTAL METER' (2001). These inventions demonstrate his contributions to networked computing environments and system optimization.
Shokite's professional experience spans over three decades, combining academic instruction with industry leadership roles. At Pitney Bowes, he served as a Principal Software Architect prior to his current roles. His work emphasizes practical application of computer science principles in both educational and corporate settings.
