Dr. Thomas Rauch is a Professor at the Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IAAT) within the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Science, University of Tübingen, Germany.
His research focuses on astronomy, astrophysics, stellar atmospheres, white dwarfs, and hydrogen-deficient stars. Dr. Rauch has demonstrated leadership in the field by serving as chair of the Local Organizing Committee for the 22nd European Workshop on White Dwarfs (EUROWD22), held in Tübingen in August 2022.
Dr. Rauch's work contributes significantly to our understanding of stellar evolution, particularly in the late stages represented by white dwarfs and related objects. His expertise spans white dwarf atmospheres, structure, and evolution as evidenced by his role in organizing this specialized conference.
As a recognized figure in white dwarf research, Dr. Rauch collaborates with international colleagues including Klaus Werner, and maintains an active presence through his university affiliation and participation in the global astronomy community.
