Dr. Thomas Pace is a Research Fellow at the Thompson Institute, University of the Sunshine Coast, specializing in mental health and neuroscience. He holds a PhD from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours from UNSW. His research focuses on brain ageing mechanisms, clinical interventions, and neuroimaging techniques like EEG. He supervises Psychology Honours students and advises on EEG-based studies. Previously, he worked at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) on cognitive flexibility and physical activity interventions for older adults with cognitive decline.
His research interests include understanding how lifestyle choices impact brain ageing, as highlighted in his 2024 study linking dementia risk factors to early brain ageing signs. He has published on mental imagery mechanisms using psychophysics and EEG. His work spans experimental design, data analysis, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
