معرفی
Thomas Mouzard is an ethnologist at the Directorate of Cultural Affairs of French Guiana (DAC Guyane) since 2014. He holds a PhD in social anthropology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), Paris, awarded in 2011. His research focuses on collective identification processes, ethnic identities, public policies, kinship, and ritual practices, particularly in post-colonial territories like French Guiana and Madagascar. He conducts action-research in Amerindian communities and collaborates with academic teams FABRIQ'AM (LESC-MASCIPO, Paris) and the IMAF's Political Anthropology of Contemporary Religious Movements group.
Since 2012, he has lived in French Guiana, where he studies the intersection of indigeneity and heritage, exemplified by Kali'na communities' experiences (1980–2015). His work critically examines how heritage policies interact with colonial legacies and contemporary identity formations.
