Thomas Maschke

Prof. Dr. Thomas Maschke is the Rector of Alanus University of Arts and Society since September 2024, holding the academic rank of Professor in Inclusive Education with a focus on emotional and social development. He previously served as Vice Rector and led the Institute for Waldorf Education, Inclusion, and Interculturality at the Mannheim Study Center.

• Education: Studied Pedagogy, Special Education, and Waldorf Education in Würzburg, Bremen, and Stuttgart. Earned a Dr. paed. (2006) and Dr. phil. (2018).
• Research: Specializes in inclusive education, Waldorf pedagogy, and social skills development. Leads annual symposia on inclusive education and collaborates internationally, including with Moscow State Pedagogical University.
• Responsibilities: Manages academic leadership, strategic initiatives (e.g., sustainability), personnel, doctoral programs, and institutional accreditation. Oversees the International Office, library, and partnerships with the Alanus Foundation.
