Thomas M. Malaby

Thomas M. Malaby is Professor and Chair of the Department of Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His research examines the interplay between institutions, unpredictability, and technology, with a focus on digital games and virtual worlds as sites of cultural and governance transformation. He co-founded the Digital Cultures Collaboratory at UWM's Center for 21st Century Studies, fostering interdisciplinary research on digital culture.
