Thomas Lodise

Thomas Lodise serves as a Clinical Professor at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) within the Department of Pharmacy Practice, while maintaining clinical duties as a Clinical Pharmacist at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, NY. His dual expertise bridges academic scholarship and direct patient care in infectious diseases.

His research focuses on optimizing antimicrobial therapy through three interconnected domains: pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), epidemiology, and health outcomes. Lodise employs advanced mathematical modeling to develop personalized dosing strategies that improve patient outcomes, minimize toxicities, combat antibiotic resistance, and reduce healthcare costs—summarized by his mission to define 'the right antibiotic at the right dose for the right patient.' He specializes in underrepresented patient populations often excluded from Phase III trials.
