Thomas Kisby is a Research Fellow and Group Leader of the Nanotherapeutics Lab at the University of Manchester's Division of Cell Matrix Biology & Regenerative Medicine. He leads the Nanotechnology for Brain Disease theme at the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre (GJBRC) and is affiliated with the Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC). His work focuses on developing nanomaterial-based therapies for neuro-oncology, particularly glioblastoma, leveraging advanced clinically relevant disease models.
Education: BSc in Medical Sciences (University of Leeds, 2015) and PhD in Regenerative Medicine (University of Manchester, 2019). Postdoctoral research shifted to cancer immunotherapy and neuro-oncology. Current roles include teaching the MSc Nanomedicine and CDT NowNano programs.

- Graphene-based therapeutics and immunomodulation
- Preclinical models for disease translation
- Repurposing nanomaterials for unmet clinical needs
Recent publications emphasize glioblastoma treatment innovations, including nanotechnologies for resection margins and immunotherapy enhancements. His work contributes to UN SDGs focused on health and innovation.
