Thomas Karlsohn

Thomas Karlsohn is Professor at Uppsala University's Department of History of Ideas. His research focuses on the history of education, secularization, and academic institutions, with special emphasis on hermeneutics, German idealism, and the Humboldtian tradition. He has published extensively on topics including emotional communities in academia, media conditions for Bildung, and the conceptual evolution of universities.
