Thomas Hillen

Thomas Hillen is a faculty member at the University of Alberta since 2001, currently serving as Graduate Chair in the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences. His work spans research, education, and supervision, with a focus on interdisciplinary applications of mathematics.

His research centers on Mathematical Biology, particularly partial differential equations applied to biological processes. Key areas include chemotaxis, pattern formation, cell movement, cancer modelling, and forest fire modelling. He emphasizes the integration of advanced mathematical techniques with real-world problems in biology and environmental science.
