PD Dr. Thomas Heller is a religious educator and science manager serving as the interim Chair of Practical Theology with a focus on Religious Education at the University of Tübingen’s Faculty of Protestant Theology starting in the summer semester of 2025. He previously held full-time roles as Director of the Research Center for Religion and Education (FZRB) and Head of the Office for Central Committees at the University of Jena. His work spans theology, pedagogy, and societal engagement, addressing contemporary challenges like extremism, advertising’s cultural impact, and religion in popular culture. He co-founded the 'Kurs.B Project' to promote inclusivity in education and has authored/co-edited works in religious pedagogy.
