Thomas Heide

Prof. Dr. Thomas Heide is a faculty member at the Westfälische Hochschule in the Department of Business Law (FB 7), where he has been employed since December 2003. He serves as Chair of the Examination Board and Academic Advisor.

• Education: Diploma in Business Administration from University of Siegen and University of Tübingen; part-time PhD from Goethe University Frankfurt/Main.

His research focuses include corporate finance, international accounting (HGB/IFRS), risk management, and business valuation. With over 10 years of practical experience in Deutsche Bank's global corporate controlling (risk controlling, guidelines, equity investment management), he integrates real-world insights into teaching.

Teaching areas: Corporate Finance, External Accounting, International Accounting, and Business Simulation. He supervises theses in national/international accounting and corporate finance topics.

He avoids regular office hours, preferring email communication (thomas.heide@w-hs.de) for scheduling appointments. His publications address practical business challenges, including SME financing alternatives like private equity.
