Thomas Hainey is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering and Computing at the University of the West of Scotland, specializing in game-based learning (GBL) and serious games. His research focuses on motivations in gaming, assessment integration, and the application of serious games in programming education, primary education, and the hospitality industry. He has contributed to over 85 publications and is an active member of the GaLA (Games and Learning Alliance) network.
