Thomas Gander

Thomas Gander is Adjunct Professor of Clinical Medical Sciences at the University of Lucerne, appointed on 18 March 2024. He concurrently serves as Chief Physician at Lucerne Cantonal Hospital since May 2024, after having been Deputy Director of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Hospital of Zurich until April 2023.

Research & Clinical Focus:
His work centres on patient-specific reconstruction and the treatment of head-and-neck tumours, integrating advanced surgical techniques with oncological precision to improve patient outcomes.

Professional Leadership & Recognition:

• Board member, Swiss Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (SGMKG)
• Core-group member for Head and Neck, Swiss Association for Clinical Cancer Research (SAKK)
• Recipient, 2023 award from the Swiss Institute for Continuing Medical Education (SIWF) for outstanding commitment to the training and continuing education of young professionals.
