Thomas Fenzl

Thomas Fenzl is a Research Group Leader at the Department of Anesthesiology, School of Medicine, Technical University of Munich. He is affiliated with the Graduate School of Systemic Neuroscience (GSN) and works within the Munich Cluster for Systems Neurology (MCN).

• Secondary research focus: Biomedical Neuroscience
• Tertiary research focus: Theoretical Neuroscience & Technical Applications

His research explores the neurobiology of sleep and anesthesia, analyzing mechanisms such as neuronal pathways during anesthesia-induced loss of consciousness, vigilance transitions, post-anesthesia delirium, and cognitive impairments in Alzheimer mouse models. Additional work involves EEG development studies in chicken embryos.
