Professor Thomas Donnarumma is a faculty member in the Arts & Languages Department at Iona University, where he founded the theatre program and developed its curricula. He also directs the Iona University Theatre Ensemble. His work includes producing and directing diverse theatrical productions, such as 'Othello,' 'A Doll's House,' and 'A View from the Bridge.' Outside academia, he has participated in over 85 productions with notable companies like the Jean Cocteau Repertory Company and the Irish Repertory Company.
Education: MFA from Brooklyn College; BFA from The City College of New York.
Research interests focus on theatre education, performance, and the integration of classical and contemporary dramatic works into academic curricula. He emphasizes experiential learning through performance and has contributed to theatre education initiatives via his roles in professional organizations.
Committees and service roles include advising the Theatre Studies Minor Program, serving on the Iona University Council on the Arts, and participating in institutional committees such as the Undergraduate Council and Faculty Senate.
He has designed courses like FPA 207: Shakespeare in Performance as part of the Study Abroad London program, blending academic study with immersive cultural experiences.
