His research centers on theoretical condensed matter physics, with a focus on superconductivity, topological materials, flat-band systems, and quantum many-body phenomena. He investigates the role of spin fluctuations in high-temperature superconductors, the behavior of topological surface states, and localization in flat-band lattices. His work bridges fundamental theory with experimental observables such as tunneling spectra and microwave responses.
The recent publications highlight a strong trend in exploring flat-band physics, many-body localization, and topological effects in quantum systems. His work spans from high-Tc cuprates to engineered optical lattices, demonstrating a versatile theoretical approach to strongly correlated and topological materials.
He has received research funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) for projects such as FOR 2692 on interacting flat-band systems, indicating active grant support for his research group.
Prof. Dahm supervises graduate students and contributes to academic governance through his roles in research and quality improvement commissions. He is also responsible for teaching modules in theoretical biophysics and solid-state physics at the master’s level.
