Dr. Thomas Bundschuh is a Senior Lecturer in Human Rights at the Sheffield Institute of Law and Justice within the College of Social Sciences and Arts at Sheffield Hallam University. He holds a PhD from the Transitional Justice Institute, University of Ulster, and an LLM in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex. His research focuses on climate change justice, environmental peacebuilding, and the intersection of human rights law with science. He teaches courses on global crises, climate litigation, and transitional justice.
His work explores how law can address climate-related inequalities and promote planetary integrity through frameworks like Earth system law. He actively contributes to NGOs, serves on the Executive Board of the Association of Human Rights Institutes, and mentors in Yale’s Global Justice Program.
