Thomas Breugem is an Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management at Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM), Tilburg University, and part of the Zero Hunger Lab. He holds a Ph.D. from the Erasmus School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and is a visiting scholar at INSEAD's Humanitarian Research Group. His research focuses on humanitarian logistics, healthcare access, and transportation optimization, emphasizing mathematical modeling for strategic decision-making in crises.
Key research interests include equitable aid distribution, cash voucher assistance mechanisms, and cross-border medicine stockpiling. He collaborates with organizations like ZOA Colombia and contributes to policy frameworks for disaster resilience. His work bridges operational research with socio-cultural dimensions of aid delivery, addressing distributional preferences in refugee crises and migrant populations.
