Thomas Bauereiss is a Researcher at the University of Cambridge's Department of Computer Science and Technology, working under Peter Sewell. His primary focus is formal modeling and verification of Instruction Set Architectures (ISAs), with contributions to projects like CHERI and the Morello prototype. Previously, he researched information flow security at DFKI Bremen within the DFG's RS3 initiative. His work spans computer architecture, formal methods, and hardware security.
Research interests include: formal verification of ISAs, security protocols in hardware/software systems, and confidentiality guarantees in distributed platforms. Key projects involve modeling ARM, RISC-V, and CHERI-MIPS architectures, alongside developing verification frameworks for capability-enhanced systems.
His publications highlight advancements in exception semantics, secure architectures, and confidentiality-verified systems. Collaborations include industry and academic partners like ARM and the CHERI project.
