Thomas Barnico is an Adjunct Professor at Boston College Law School, where he teaches the Attorney General Civil Litigation Program and Seminar and the Government Externship Seminar. He has held visiting professorships at the Law School during the 2010-2011, 2012-2013, 2015-2016, and 2022-23 academic years, teaching courses such as Federal Courts and Administrative Law.

Barnico specializes in constitutional law, administrative law, and civil litigation. His work focuses on legal education and government law, particularly representing states and officers in civil cases. Barnico served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1981 to 2010, arguing 72 cases in the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts and 18 in the First Circuit. He also authored the novel War College, set in the Vietnam War era.
