معرفی
Thomas Appelquist is the Eugene Higgins Professor of Physics at Yale University. His research focuses on theoretical high energy physics, including topics like quantum field theory, lattice gauge theories, and conformal symmetry. He received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1968. His work includes contributions to the decoupling theorem, walking technicolor, and universal extra dimensions. He teaches graduate courses in quantum mechanics and quantum field theory.
His current research develops effective field theories with approximate conformal symmetry, informed by lattice studies of strongly coupled gauge theories. These theories explore new physics at the Large Hadron Collider and composite dark matter. He collaborates with the LSD and Lattice Strong Collaborations.
Labs/Teams: Active member of the LSD Collaboration and Lattice Strong Collaboration at Yale and international partners.
