Thomas Altura serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Management within the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San José State University. He holds a Ph.D. and M.B.A. from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a B.A. in Anthropology from UCLA, with teaching responsibilities spanning undergraduate, M.B.A., Ed.D., and Engineering Leadership programs.

Dr. Altura's research centers on organization theory and institutional change through multidisciplinary quantitative and qualitative methodologies. He has received the College of Business's highest teaching honor—the Distinguished Teaching Award—alongside other institutional recognitions for pedagogical excellence.
Dr. Altura teaches Organization Theory, Organizational Behavior and Change in Education, Developing and Managing People, Fundamentals of Management and Organizational Behavior, and Managing Organizational Change across three colleges: Lucas College and Graduate School of Business (undergraduate/M.B.A.), College of Education (Ed.D. program), and College of Engineering (M.S. Engineering with Business Leadership specialization).
