Thomas A. DiPrete serves as Giddings Professor of Sociology at Columbia University and holds leadership positions as co-director of the Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy (ISERP) and co-director of the Center for the Study of Wealth and Inequality. He is also a faculty member of the Columbia Population Research Center.
His educational background includes a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. from Columbia University. Prior academic appointments span the University of Chicago, Duke University, and the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
