Dr. Thomas A. Blasingame is a Professor and Department Head of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University's College of Engineering. He holds the Robert L. Whiting Professorship and directs the Crisman Institute for Petroleum Research. His work centers on reservoir engineering, production analysis, and unconventional resources.
Blasingame's research develops methods for forecasting production in shale reservoirs, well performance optimization, and PVT property characterization under confinement. He received multiple SPE honors, including the Lucas Gold Medal and Honorary Membership.
He leads initiatives on reservoir simulation and pressure transient testing, advising industry partners including ExxonMobil and Chevron. His publications are foundational in petroleum engineering curricula.
