Thomas A Hirschl is a Professor in the Department of Global Development at Cornell University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). His research centers on social class differentiation, life course analysis, and the economic, social, and health correlates of poverty. He has developed innovative methods for measuring social class through longitudinal data and examines how individuals perceive economic hardship and success through ideological and religious frameworks.
