Thierry Combot is a Lecturer (Maître de Conférence) at the University of Burgundy, based at the Institut de Mathématiques de Bourgogne (IMB) within the Geometry, Algebra, Dynamics and Topology team. His office is located in the Mirande Building, Wing A, Office 321, at 9 avenue Alain Savary, 21078 Dijon Cedex, France.
His research centers on the integrability and non-integrability of dynamical systems, approached from an algebraic perspective. Key interests include:
- Differential Galois group computations
- Symbolic integration and resolution of differential/difference equations
- Holonomic functions and creative telescoping
- Effective algorithms and their practical implementation
- Asymptotics and monodromy analysis
He actively develops and distributes Maple software packages for testing integrability and computing first integrals, including tools for:
- Algorithmic non-integrability testing for planar homogeneous potentials
- Symbolic integration of hyperexponential 1-forms
- Elementary integration of superelliptic integrals
- Linear and multiplicative relations between roots of polynomials
