Therese Bäckman is a Researcher and Law Lecturer at the Academy of Police Work, Department of Police Training, University of Borås. She holds a PhD in Public Law (2013) and serves as program director for the Bachelor's Degree in Police Work (Criminal Investigation specialization), launched in Fall 2022.
Her research spans Social Law, Police-Social Services Collaboration, and Youth Criminal Justice, with expertise in Legal Reconsideration of Decisions for disability rights. Recent publications focus on Dangerous Goods Transport Safety through interagency frameworks.
She co-supervises doctoral students at the University of Gothenburg and has been employed at the University of Borås since 2022, teaching in police training programs since 2019.
