Theresa Smith

Theresa Smith is an Assistant Professor in the Nursing Department at Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. With over two decades of experience at the institution, her academic expertise spans healthcare education, pathway development, leadership training, and curriculum design. She holds a PhD in Nursing from Iowa State University (2013), an MSN from the University of Iowa (2005), and a BSN from Mercy College (2003).

Research Interests: Theresa focuses on English Language Learners in Healthcare Careers, Pathways to Healthcare Careers, and Developing Women Leaders in Higher Education. Her work emphasizes equitable access to healthcare education and leadership development in academic settings.
