Theresa M. Horner

Dr. Theresa M. Horner serves as the Founding Chair of the Department of Public Health and an Assistant Professor of Public Health at Saint Francis University. She is affiliated with the School of Health Sciences & Education. Previously, she held roles at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, including Executive Director of Health & Counseling Services. Her expertise spans mental health, public health intervention, and crisis prevention.

Research Interests: Population-based approaches to public health, community wellness, emergency preparedness, and combating drug epidemics. She emphasizes preventive strategies in mental health and campus safety.

• Recognition for Campus Alcohol & Drug Prevention (2012)

Advising & Grants: Led the Healthy Campus Initiative (2009), contributed to the Critical Incident Response Team, and focuses on rural health systems and leadership in health education.

Labs/Teams: Active Disaster Mental Health Responder with the American Red Cross. Engaged in university committees and advisory boards at Saint Francis University.
