Theresa Calderone

Theresa Calderone, an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, serves as the Clinical Placement Coordinator for the Health & Community Systems department. With over 30 years of nursing experience, her clinical focus spans Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and Informatics, and she actively supports clinical placements for Nurse Practitioner (FNP and PNP) students, including out-of-state placements and preceptor recruitment.

Her current responsibilities emphasize optimizing clinical education infrastructure through strategic partnerships with preceptors and clinical sites.

She contributes to community service as a Board of Trustee member at the Apollo Memorial Library (since 2023) and as Secretary of the Chautauqua Catholic Community Executive Board (since 2024).

Advising and Grants: Dr. Calderone collaborates with faculty and students on clinical placements and secured a 2024 grant from Pennsylvania HARC to preserve historical records related to the NUMEC Affair. Her clinical mentorship extends to supporting students in complex placement scenarios.
