Theodore V. Cooper is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at El Paso, specializing in disease prevention and health promotion. His research examines health disparities among Hispanic populations with focus areas including tobacco/vaping cessation, social media addiction, weight concerns, and sexual risk behaviors.
He leads the Prevention And Treatment in Clinical Health (PATCH) Research Laboratory and has secured multiple major grants from organizations like the Paso del Norte Health Foundation and National Institutes of Health. Current projects investigate psychosocial correlates of phubbing behavior, fear of missing out (FoMO), and technology-alcohol use relationships among Latinx college students.
