Professor Theodore Turocy is a Professor of Economics at the University of East Anglia (UEA), serving as Deputy Head of the School of Economics and Associate Dean for Research in the Faculty of Social Sciences. He holds leadership roles in the Alan Turing Institute (Theme Lead for Game Theory) and previously directed the Centre for Behavioural and Experimental Social Science. His research focuses on decision processes, game theory, and behavioral economics, with an emphasis on choice architecture, public goods, and auctions. He leads the Gambit software project for game theory analysis.
Education: PhD in Managerial Economics and Decision Science (Northwestern University, 2001); BS in Computer Science and Economics (California Institute of Technology, 1994).
Recent projects include developing behavior change interventions for coastal environments (East Suffolk Council), studying consumer engagement (ESRC), and analyzing water conservation strategies (with Anglian Water). His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to sustainable consumption and resource management.
Key collaborations span institutions like the University of Nottingham and Warwick, funded by ESRC, British Academy, and InnovateUK. He directs the Lab for Economic and Decision Research and serves as Vice President of the Economic Science Association.
