Theodore E. Christensen

Theodore (Ted) E. Christensen is a Professor and holds the Terry Distinguished Chair at the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, where he also served as Director of the J. M. Tull School of Accounting from 2015 to 2024. Prior to UGA, he held faculty positions at Brigham Young University (2000–2015) and Case Western Reserve University (1995–2000). He has also been a visiting professor at the University of Michigan (2013–2014), University of Utah (2012), and taught courses at Santa Clara University (2005–2023).

His research focuses on voluntary disclosure, particularly non-GAAP reporting and management earnings forecasts. He is an editor of the Journal of Business Finance & Accounting and has published extensively in top accounting journals such as the Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, and Journal of Accounting Research. He is also the author of advanced financial and managerial accounting textbooks.

Teaching specialties include financial accounting at all levels, financial statement analysis, business valuation, managerial accounting, and corporate taxation. He has received numerous awards for teaching and research and is a CPA. He has been actively involved in leadership roles with the American Accounting Association.
