Theodor W. Hänsch is a Professor of Physics at Ludwig-Maximilians University München since 1986 and Director at the Max-Planck-Institut für Quantenoptik, Garching, Germany. Previously, he was a Professor (1975–1986), Associate Professor (1972–1975), and Assistant Professor (1970–1972) at Stanford University.
