Dr. Thea Comeau is an Assistant Professor in Psychology and Interim Clinical Director of the PsyD program at Concordia University of Edmonton's Faculty of Arts. She specializes in posttraumatic growth, clinician development, and positive psychology. Her research focuses on trauma-related resilience, particularly in violence-affected populations, and clinician well-being during training. She teaches courses ranging from ethical issues in psychology to clinical practicum supervision.
Her research interests include the neurobiological foundations of PTSD treatment, values clarification processes in therapy, and the psychological impacts of preterm birth on families. She has published extensively on trauma resilience and clinician training since 2013. Notable works include studies on Northern Ireland's post-conflict trauma recovery and neurobiological approaches to PTSD management.
Dr. Comeau's teaching spans undergraduate and graduate levels, including advanced clinical practicum courses for doctoral students. Her work emphasizes integrating positive psychology principles into clinical practice and fostering clinician resilience through structured training programs.
