Dr. Thao Le is a Senior Research Fellow at Monash University's School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, specializing in Biostatistics, Data Analytics, and Health Economics. She holds a PhD in Biostatistics from the University of Oxford (2015-2019), a Master's in Statistics from Hasselt University (2012-2014), and a Pharmacy degree from Hanoi University of Pharmacy (2005-2010).
Her research focuses on advanced clinical trial methodologies, biostatistical modeling in healthcare, and economic evaluations of medical interventions. Key areas include:
- Optimization of trial designs for complex diseases (e.g., eating disorders, age-related macular degeneration)
- Handling missing data in longitudinal studies
- Statistical analysis of mortality and disease progression
- Cost-effectiveness of immunoglobulin therapies
Recent projects include leadership in the Handling missing disease information initiative (2020-2021) and collaborative roles in major studies such as ASPREE-CHIP Extension and OPTIMAL. Her work addresses critical gaps in clinical trial design and healthcare resource optimization.
Le has received awards including the Nuffield Department of Medicine Graduate Prize (2019) and the School of Public Health's Early Career Research Award (2023). She currently leads or co-leads four major research projects focusing on blood management, immunoglobulin therapy, and age-related diseases.
