Thang Pham

Thang Pham is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Science, Vietnam National University Hanoi. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics with special distinction from EPFL Switzerland in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. János Pach. His career includes faculty positions at UCSD, UR, and ETH Zurich, alongside visiting roles at prestigious institutions.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Mathematics, EPFL Switzerland (May 2017)

Research Interests: Spanning discrete mathematics, computational geometry, and combinatorics, his work bridges theoretical and applied mathematics with implications in algorithmic geometry and graph theory.

Scientific Support: Funded by Vietnam National University, NAFOSTED, and an ERC Advanced Grant, he holds an Erdős number of 2 and actively mentors undergraduate researchers through the Vietnam Polymath REU program.
