Thanamas Kungwal is a Lecturer in Accounting at Keele Business School, Keele University. He joined Keele in 2014 after teaching at Durham University and holds a PhD from the University of Manchester (2012), focusing on dividend displacement and corporate distribution effects in the UK. His research explores corporate payout policies (dividends, buybacks) and their relationship with market value, with a focus on UK markets. He actively presents at national/international conferences and supervises PhD topics on payout policy determinants and governance linkages.
Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate/postgraduate management accounting courses and tutoring. Academic memberships include Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and membership in the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA).
Recent publications analyze dividend/share buyback information content, corporate governance influences on payout decisions, and strategic buyback motivations in UK firms. His work bridges accounting practices with market valuation dynamics.
