Dr. Tessa van Charldorp is an Associate Professor in Language and Communication at Utrecht University's Department of Languages, Literature and Communication. She serves as coordinator for the interdisciplinary minor Medical Humanities at the Faculty of Humanities and previously coordinated the master Medical Humanities at the Faculty of Medicine. As chair of the Dutch Association of Applied Linguistics (Anéla) and leader of the Language & Communication research group, her work focuses on talk in interaction across health, police, and educational domains.

Key projects include analyzing GP triage calls, emergency department decision-making, and interdisciplinary chronic pain research.
