معرفی
Tesfaye Kibret is a Term Instructor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Alaska Anchorage, USA. His academic career spans diverse roles in education and theoretical physics research, with a focus on physics education and condensed matter physics.
- PhD in Education (2016), University of Koblenz-Landau, Germany
- MSc in Physics (2003), Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia
- BEd in Physics (2000), Dilla College, Ethiopia
His research interests in Physics Education include adaptive planning using student performance feedback, cognitive activation, inquiry-based teaching, pedagogical content knowledge, formative assessment, and problem-solving strategies. In Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, he explores transport properties and spin dynamics in doped semiconductors. His publications reflect a dual focus on improving physics pedagogy and advancing semiconductor physics understanding.
Kibret has supervised 12 graduate theses in physics education and mentored hundreds of undergraduates in teaching practices and research projects. He has served on multiple academic committees, including roles as Chairman of the Physics Department and Head of Teaching and Learning Support Units.
