Terry Anne Scott is an Assistant Professor of History at Bellevue College, where she has been teaching since 2010. She also holds a position as an Assistant Professor of History at Hood College in Maryland. Previously, she worked as a lecturer at the University of Washington.
Dr. Scott earned her Ph.D. in History from the University of Chicago, where she was awarded the Trustees Fellowship. She received her undergraduate degree in History from Arizona State University and her Master's Degree in History with distinction from Southern Methodist University.
Her research focuses on race, urban history, sports, and the American South. Dr. Scott's scholarly work examines complex historical phenomena related to racial dynamics and social structures, with particular attention to how racial violence has been manifested and perceived throughout American history.

Dr. Scott has advised numerous students in their historical research and has been involved in significant public history projects. Her current scholarly work represents important contributions to understanding the historical roots of contemporary racial issues in America.
Among her notable public history projects is an investigation of Freedman's Cemetery, a 19th century African American burial ground, which demonstrates her commitment to preserving and interpreting marginalized historical narratives.
